    My new engagement ring was purchased out of state. The stone fell out and I didn’t want to mail it off, so I chose a local jeweler in hopes of a quick fix! I reluctantly agreed to allow Christie’s to “send it off” for 7 days to have the setting straightened and the prongs tipped to secure the stone, per her recommendation. After the allotted time, my fiancé and I began calling, day after day. The voicemail was full and no answer, day after day. I drove by the store only to find a dark shop with a hand written note on the door saying that her child had the flu. I continued to drive by and call for another full week before my fiancé finally got an answer only to find that the ring was never sent off, but that “Bob” should be able to get it fixed before the end of the day. I was disappointed in the terrible customer service and lack of communication but elated to have my ring back and in one piece. I wore the ring over night. The next morning, the stone fell out once again. My fiancé called and was told, at that point, that “Bob” left a note that said the setting was too small. (Pertinent info to have known when we picked up the ring & paid full price for the service.) I took it back and was told that she could replace the setting in another 7 days... I told her that was not acceptable, that I needed the ring in 3 days. I asked her if we needed to downsize the stone and she assured me changing the setting was the necessary fix. Soon after I left, she called to say that “Bob” had a stone that would fit my setting and would definitely have the ring back in the desired time frame. I reluctantly agreed. I went back the next day, was told that there was no additional charge, she kept my original stone and I left. Upon examine the new stone, I noticed that there was a very large chip that they attempted to cover up with the setting. Needless to say, I have lost all faith in Christie’s and have given up on bringing my ring back for her to make things right!!! Please! Save yourself a lot of heart ache and shop elsewhere!
